Got my new external hd for college, 500 gig only in reality its 465, still waiting for apple to release a macbook pro with a core 2 duo, should be out any time now considering they are now putting them in every major mac aside for laptops

wow that was amazing.
to recap Sasquatch of saturday
we left at 4 in the morning and it was rainging on the way there with a few sprinkles when we got there.
the area at the gorge is just beautiful, the mainstage is at the bottom of a hill leading to a cliff so you can see all the beautiful scenery. it was terraced about halfway down and there was a pit at the bottom for potential moshers and the like. in the end i think there were 20,000 people there and it wasant crouded because the stage was so large aside from the pit.
first on the mainstage was Rouge Wave, not too interesting, i enjoyed the nap outside.
next we went to the Architecture in Helsinki on the wookie stage. they were fantastic and silly, they were alot better live than recorded. worth looking into.
after that was Sufjan Stevens, i didnt realize how young Sufjan was. he had a guitar shaped like the U.S. mainland and everyone was wearing red, whit and blue, you know the colors of France. they performed really well aside from a mike not working, but it worked out.
I ate a teriaki bowl while Iron and Wine played in the sun. lots of people started tanning. they did quite well for what i heard, however i dont really liosten to them so i didnt know any songs.
next up was Neko Case. there was lightning in an angry cloud above us and it started raining and then a severe hailstorm. people were yelling out in pain and the hail was huge. it was piling up and there were inches of it on the grond. people were hiding under blankets and Neko went off stage when it got windy and she started getting pelted in the face. we went looking for cover because my dad and i were soaked. because were were at the conctrete bottof a hill there was a large about of water flowing down and everyine was looking for cover so there wasnt any. everyone wanted to go to the campsite but there was a do not return policy with the tickets but after several and i mean several complaints they decided to let people back in with tickets. me and my dad went and changed in the car and dried off with the cars heater a little.
the weather calmed down and music stared playing so we went back inside. Tragically Hip was playing and the lead singer was really strange, he blathered on alot between songs and started yelling at his microphone on how it is not a man that he is a man and so on. i didnt really digg it.
The Shins were up next and they were spectacular, except that they kept making puns about the gorge, and how its gorgeous andwe better not gorge ourselves on beer and food, however there were several drunks there already.they played really well, played all of the songs that you hear from garden state and the radio and and even played a song from their future cd, it was good.
Ben Harper went on next instead of the Flaming lips as planned because of the delay from the weather and Ben had a tighter schedule. He did really well, i havent listened to him at all but everyone at the audience was singing along. he played a short set and then an encore that lasted longer that the original set. i was really impressed with Bens playing and he had a really good bassist. the encore ended at about 11 or so
the last band up was the Flaming Lips. they took forever to set up but thats because they brought all their own lighting equipment as well as a projection screen and 3 projectors. There was a camera on The lead singers Microphone and the screen was behind it so when he spokeinto it and the camera was on there was an infinite number of him on the screen like the effect you get with 2 mirrors placed parellel. to help with the time there was a laser light show ont the actual walls of the gorge.
They started and a bunch of people dressed as santa and aliens came out. and the lead singer croud surfed in a giant plastic bubble, and made it back to stage guided by superman and captain america. balloons were bounced around. Streamers were shot out everywhere as well as a video for every song that was played here is the list of songs as best as i can remember
Bohemian Rhapsody was played and everyone sang along to the words on the screen.
Are you A hypnotist was good and there was a video of space in the background
Do You realize was cool i believe and the video was a girls sunbathing and putting wasabi on food and then accidentially putting it on as sunscreen
Yoshimi battles he robots part 1 and 2 were played. the first was a video of an older asian women mixed in with other things and the only "robots" were people in animal suits with a flashlight in the video. part 2 was a battle between the santas and the aliens
She Dont use Jelly was very good, very strange video
The the Yeah Yeah Yeah song was played it was really fun, everyone was singing and the video was of his mouth, with they yeahs and nos appearing in bubbles that appeared in different languages.
they covered a black sabbath song, im not sure which one and had a video with war images.
it was an amazing event and i think that the flaming lips concert is the best i have ever seen. |

man x men yesterday sasquatch tomorrow and Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (my japanese male cheerleading game) is stealing the rest of my life away. ive bever had to recharge my ds in such a rapid interval by just constant playing
I wanted to go to the nightmare party but my parents said that i cannot because i need to wake up and leave at 4 am tomorrow.

prom was grand here is what yesterday consisted of
*went to the southern orientation thing got home at 3:55
*had to leave at 4 for prom so i got ready super fast
*picked up Cassidy and pinned on her corsage pictures occured
*went to sushi takahashi with sean, danni, and cassidy
*got pictures taken by a stranger
*went to the emergency exit gig pictures occured
*left for prom
*found the balroom from seans car
*looked for a place to park
*got lost
*got separated
*found prom
*rejoined
*danced
*boogied down
*night all dance
*traveled home
it was a rather swell event and now the musical is starting so i will have no more time |

so i finally have internet
so here goes
The other day it was around 10ish and i was about to go to bed, then there was a large power surge and my computer turned off and the monitor turned off and i heard these loud pops, like gunshots. i looked out my window and i saw sparks shooting away from the side of the house. i tell my parents what is happening and i turn off my powerstrip just to be safe.
we venture outside and we dont see anything just our ordinary wire but it seemed a little frayed. our neighbor was calling the fire department because she saw our tree catch on fire. I go inside and my sister comes up and yells, "my computer is on fire." i go in and check and its smoking. "oh shit," i remember saying and i start unplugging everything. i run into my room and my television is smoking, i unplugged everything and started removing all the plugs from my parents room. the fire department came and they come in. the house reeks of electrical fire, and they turn on some lights. the lights were the brightest they had ever been and some just exploded out of the sockets. the fire department come in and scans everything with a thermal scaner to check for any fires in our walls, we didnt have any but apparently the surge suppressors were extremely bright. the power gets shut off and an electrician comes and fixes the wire.
i go back inside and start looking at whats broken heres a list of what i remember
the fridge
the heater
3 tvs
all phones
all internet supplies
roses computer
the dvd/vcr player
some audio equipment
and i think our washer
we have just started replacing/fixing everything
so i now have the internet back |
